Multi-level Marketing (MLM) or Network Marketing businesses use a strategy of direct selling of products through salespeople rather than shops and retailers. Health food, beauty and wellness products are the most common.

They promise independent sellers the opportunity to work from home and make a decent income source selling to their extended network while enjoying the benefits of wonderful health-conscious products.

I was involved in three well-known MLMs — Isagenix, Herbal Life and doTerra essential oils. Unfortunately, all three turned out to be big disappointments.

I didn’t make money, and I didn’t get healthier. So here’s how they work….
